IDUH BANS INDISCRIMINATE FORMATION OF FORUMS IN DELTA NORTH PDP

The Chairman of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta North Senatorial District, Elder Moses Iduh has directed stoppage to indiscriminate formations of forums within the ranks of the Ward and LGA Executives of the Party across the Senatorial District and discontinuation of meetings under such forums.

Iduh who made this call recently in a meeting held at the PDP Delta North Secretariat in Ogwashi- Ukwu with PDP Local Government Area Chairmen, Deputy Chairmen, Secretaries, Women Leaders and Youth Leaders said it had been observed that these categories of party officers, particularly Deputy Chairmen, Secretaries, Women Leaders and Youth Leaders were in the habit of grouping themselves under the auspices of forums such as Forum of PDP LGA Deputy Chairmen, Forum of PDP LGA Secretaries, etc.; noting that the development was unhealthy for the Party and should be discontinued forthwith.

Iduh who noted that these forums were divisive and against the Party’s Constitution, disclosed that they were being used as a means of extorting money from unsuspecting aspirants for various elective positions across the Senatorial District.

The PDP Senatorial Chairman also frowned at the manner meetings of the party were called by unauthorized persons at the LGA level without recourse to the LGA Party Chairman. He said for the avoidance of doubts, no meeting of the Party should be convened in the LGAs without due clearance from the LGA Party Chairman.

While saying LGA Women leaders and Youth leaders could call meetings of women or youths as the case may be within their respective LGAs, such meetings should be with the consent of the PDP LGA Chairman.

Speaking in the same vain, the PDP State Secretary, Chief Obi Nzete noted that the move to nip the unsavoury development of group formations amongst some categories of Party officers in the Ward and LGA Executive Committees was a welcomed development, nothing that the PDP is united and operates in line with the Party Constitution.

In their responses, the PDP LGA Deputy Chairmen, Secretaries, Women and Youth Leaders pledged to adhere to the directives of the Party leadership regarding formation of forums amongst their ranks.

Also present at the meeting were Deacon ChuxNwaebuni, PDP South- South Zonal Officer; Lady KawuliaOmoko, PDP State Woman Leader; Collins Bello, PDP State Financial Secretary; Bar. Kensington Okolo, PDP State Assistant Legal Adviser; Chief Rita Daniels, PDP State Assistant Treasurer; Tatabuzor, PDP State Assistant Secretary; PDP LGA Chairmen and other members of the Senatorial Executive
